Family Prayer
To keep the presence of Christ at home is not just hanging a wall motto with the words "God Bless Our Home." Nor is tacking up Bible verses in every room enough. Good though our intentions may be, what is more essential is to practice the spirit and attitude of Christ in the humdrum of daily life among the people we claim to love dearly.
Some of our Christian leaders succeed in almost all their endeavors except in their own homes. Sometimes a person who impresses us as the epitome of godliness and serenity is an entirely different man at closer range - when he is with his wife and children. Couples who may strike us as very liberal in sharing their material blessing with others may be those who exploit their helpers. Seemingly well-disciplined children in church, may turn out as spoiled brats at home.
