This is a perfect business for the mechanically minded. It can be simple as making a dozen copies of a wedding video or as complex as adding sound and music to old home video movies.

Be aware there are laws forbidding the duplicating of copyrighted materials, so don’t leave yourself open for prosecution by the FBI. Know what you are being asked to copy before you say ok.

You will need at least video cam and computer in order to do this business. Contact corporations to copy their training videos and give your business cards to photographers who specialize in wedding, bar activities and anniversary parties.

Most video-copying services charge between $40 and $55 an hour, depending on what’s being done. But this does not include time for the video to be copied. Set a rate structure so you can quote prices quickly. It shows you know what you’re doing.

You might not get rich, but it’s a perfect way to use your spare time to make spare cash, and see a show at the same time.
