Most of us hate to clean. But if you don’t mind it you should find plenty of work, either in private homes or in offices. And you can set your own hours and work as much or as little as you want. Chances are, your customers will be steady and will need you every week or every two weeks. Some offices need cleaning every night.

Standard fees range from $15 to $35 per hour, depending on what is involved. Don’t undersell yourself. This can be backbreaking work. You might be able to size up a house quickly and offer a package deal at a fixed price. Take on as much or as little work as you want.

You should have your own supplies, which can be purchased wholesale at discount or janitorial supply stores. Advertise with flayers and always be on the lookout for ways to promote your services.
