Home Health Aide
Compassionate, caring people are always needed for home health care. You can register through an agency that will send you out on jobs or you can be an independent contractor. A nursing degree is helpful but not necessary.

Either way, you will probably need the following: basic knowledge of CPR, safety training and familiarity with emergency facilities in your area. A criminal check will be required from an agency (contact your local police department for more information). You will also need to contact your state or county health services department to see what certification, if any, is required.

People are cautious these days. You will be in home, unsupervised, with a person who needs care. Duties will probably include light housekeeping, various chores, preparing meals and administration of medicines.

Agencies can provide fairly steady work, but while they collect $25 to $45 an hour from the client, you will only get half. On your own, you will only get half. On your own, you can charge $20 to $40 per hour, depending on what you are asked to do. Many insurance companies offer $80 per day. For more information and guidance you may contact Mentor Clinical Care about this matter.
