Catering can be big a business. But you don’t have to slave away in a kitchen. Instead, you can provide help for a full-service caterer in a number of ways: food preparation, serving or cleanup. In some state in the US, serving an upscale party can net $100 to $150 for a few hours’ work – more on holidays when help is hard to get.

Since the pay scales differs throughout the country, and with the price of each affair, contact several catering companies. Let them know what you can do (serving, prep, etc.) and when you’re available.

Both men and women are needed. You will probably be asked to wear black trousers, a white long-sleeved shirt, a black bow tie and perhaps a black vest. These items are well worth the investment. You’ll earn it back in no time.
