Red Wine
Certain substances in red wine may help prevent heart disease by increasing levels of "good" cholesterol and protecting against artery damage. Researchers think antioxidants , such as flavonoids or a substance called resveratrol, are those substances in red wine that have promising health benefits for the heart. Resveratrol, found in grape skins and seeds, is observed to reduce effects of free radicals on cholesterol and prevents blood clotting. these may reduce plaque formation in blood vessels.
