Phone Cards
One of the hottest trends in telephone marketing in recent years has been the “phone card.” You can buy them at grocery stores, at post offices, and from vending machines; you can even pay a little extra for an especially pretty picture on the front.

The idea behind the phone card is elegant: You can make calls from any phone at any time without having to fuss with coins. You make a call by dialing into a central computer and entering your card number and the number you want to dial; the computer keeps track of the time you are on line and subtracts the cost for the time from the amount of money in your account. Some cards offer advanced features including speed dialing for frequently called numbers; information services, and a monthly activity report.
