The largest sources of used cars are reseals by individuals. About 40 percent of used cars are sold in this way, and this is also where you will find the best prices. About one-third of previously owned cars are sold off the used car lots of new-car dealers. The remainders are sold by independent used-car lots and from rental and fleet auctions.
